How To Choose The Right Conveyor Roller
A short buyer's guide from a Qingdao sourcing partner — so you specify the roller that actually fits your line.
1. Idler or powered?
Idler (non-driven) rollers support the belt; powered rollers drive it. Use powered only where you need to move the load — everything else can be idler to save cost.
2. Coating matters
Plain steel for dry, clean lines; rubber-coated for grip and quiet; galvanized for humid or outdoor duty. Match the coating to the product, not the catalogue.
3. Load and span
Specify the load per roller and the support span. We size shaft diameter and wall thickness so run-out stays within tolerance over the roller's life.
4. We make to drawing
Ø50–219mm, lengths to 3000mm, any coating. Send the drawing (or a photo of the old one) and we return a buildable quote with lead time.
